Before you point production traffic at the gateway:

Checklist

• Vault provider keys (never ship sk- in app env)
• Separate virtual keys for prod / staging / per client
• Set monthly budgets and RPM limits
• Enable MFA on owner accounts
• Configure Slack/email alerts at 80%
• Upgrade off Free before launch traffic
• Document base_url + kc- rotation for your team
• Watch /health and dashboard spend for the first week
